Oil Paint on board 45 x 60cm
This is a return to oil paint after some months only painting with water colours, ink, gouache or drawing.
I do enjoy oils; it has a plasticity and sensual feel to it. However I do not enjoy the clean up afterwards.
With this painting I have been using water colour sketches as my reference. I find the danger in using photographic references, is that I get too motivated by the image. The water colour sketches already have a looseness and are one step removed from what I am seeing.
