Richard at the gallery

Collage 29.7 x 42cm
Galleries seem to have become a vital visiting place for tourists, especially if the gallery is a well known one, for example: the Louvre, Tate, Hermitage, Guggenheim, Prado and so on.  What amuses me is the way tourists rush around taking selfies as a way of telling the world they were there.  So I have done a collage of a viewer who refuses to be photographed, who doesn't wish to be seen, who perhaps is interested in the art.

Pleased to announce that this work is a finalist in the Lethbridge Art Gallery, Small scale art prize for 2020.

'Whatever!"

Collage 42 x 29.7cm
I love how this saying is often delivered with such boredom or refusal to politely comply.
The viewer or reader must make their own reading or 'whatever'!

Rolling up

Collage 42 x 29.7cm     Sold
I have enjoyed playing around with words in this collage.
I was thinking of how a caption motivates us in our reading of an image.
