Cliffs, Tamarama

Watercolour 22.8 x 30.5cm
Tamarama is a little bay nestled in between two headlands with Bondi on the north side and Bronte on the south side. It was first named Gamma gamma which means 'storm' by the indigenous owners. This certainly applies to the surf here which can be very treacherous.

Tamarama Beach has been painted by many artists:
This is an Romantic example by Julian Rossi Ashton
Title: A summer morning. Painted 1899.

990 x 597mm

Elioth Gruner 22.8 x 27cm
Painted in 1920 on a very calm day with the emphasis being on family and relaxation.
