There is water everywhere in Japan: rivers, lakes, ponds, waterfalls.  Coming from Australia, a very dry continent, makes the lushness of Japan all the more appealing. In this particular case, the Lake was artificial and featured in one of their beautiful gardens creating a sense of contemplation and calm.
