This work was part of our Open weekend at Oneplus2artiststudios, Rozelle.

The theme was Callan Park Impressions; the park is located directly opposite our studios and provides wonderful opportunities for painting landscape, historic buildings or simply enjoying its beauty.

Well I have finally finished this one.  I have been making all sorts of cardboard silhouettes and signs for our open weekend at Oneplus2artiststudio Rozelle.  It has been a lot of fun but I'm also glad that I have finally finished this work: even the subjects have been waiting!

This little painting is to be part of the Callan Park exhibition to be held at our studios at Oneplus2 on the 23/24 Nov.  This is part of the Open studios programme promoted by the Inner West Council and the exhibition is to be opened by the Mayor: Darcy Byrne.

 Winner in the Inaugural Inner West Contemporary Urban Edge Art Show.

The theme for the show was " Small works in the big city" and my theme was catching up with friends. Isn't that the beauty of living in the city!

The show was held at the Chrissy Cotter Art Gallery and opened by the Mayor for the Inner West: Darcy Byrne.

This was based on a quick photo I took of two men both waiting for a train at Wynyard station, both totally involved with their iPhones.

This collage fought me every inch of the way.  Clearly, I didn't think the composition out properly to start with and paid the price.  However, with a lot of support and advice from the lovely fellow artists in our studio I got there in the end.

The G7 summit has just finished.  Meanwhile the Amazon rain forest is up in flames, most illegally lit so the forest can make way for beef.  So these were some of the world issues going on in the back of my mind.

This is a minimalist design using the complimentary colours of purple and yellow.

It is cold in our studio so I asked our lovely model if she could model fully clothed and wear anything provided it was not black.

Lotus leaves

This is based on a photo I took of lotus at Ueno.  They had finished flowering but I loved how the leaves were blowing in the breeze; so animated before they died back and sunk into the mud.

These cheerful little flowers are just appearing.  Heralding spring which is not far off, especially with global warming.

Got the idea for this after a short ride on the train with a couple of friends who were in deep conversation.
