This is located in Mosman Bay, South just near the Old Cremorne wharf. There is a delightful footpath used by joggers, hikers and strollers taking their dogs for a walk. It is just along from here that we sighted a Water Dragon taking the sun.
This Park is an absolute gem. It is reached by the Darling Point Ferry with views over the harbour and despite the day being beautiful, there were hardly any people in the park. My friend and I were able to set up our paints without tourists or locals wishing to tell us they have a close relative who also paints!
This was done 'plein air' in the Lavender Parklands which is a cluster of beautiful parks including Wendy's Secret Garden overlooking the equally beautiful Lavender Bay.
This was done from memory after a train trip to Gosford. The train passes through some beautiful country side, including Ku ring Gai Chase National Park and numerous bays, creeks, inlets and waterways all fed by the Hawkesbury River.
I did three efforts of this bridge and of course the first, done on cartridge in a note book was the freshest and most successful. The better the paper the tighter I became.
I have caught a little bit of sunlight in this painting so I think "Alchemy" is an apt choice for a title. I am also reminded of all the alchemist's bottles and specimen jars.
My chief love is still life but I also do the occasional landscape, figure and portrait. I mainly use acrylics but find watercolour and gouache very useful for traveling and plein air.
All paintings are for sale unless marked Sold.
