Sugar Bowl

This dear little sugar bowl was lent to me by a fellow artist.  I had three goes at painting it.  The first effort was on some linen coated with a clear sealant making it difficult to tell which was the front from the back.  It became very obvious when I started painting. The second effort on the correct side of the canvas, was just dire.  Less said the better.  Sometimes painting is hard.  So here is the third try.

This little jug, cracked and chipped and much loved, belonged to my Mother.  It sat on a kitchen shelf and held an assortment of odd things: pencil stubs, safety pins, hair clips, elastic bands, used stamps...
