A friend and I went to Rose Bay over the weekend and did some plein air sketching.

I would have to say that there was 'air' in abundance so that after a time of sitting still and fighting the wind, we were in need of coffee and warmth.

Lake reverie

There is water everywhere in Japan: rivers, lakes, ponds, waterfalls.  Coming from Australia, a very dry continent, makes the lushness of Japan all the more appealing. In this particular case, the Lake was artificial and featured in one of their beautiful gardens creating a sense of contemplation and calm.
