Waverley Park, Plein air with water colour

Blackman Bay, TAS

I have just been to Hobart and spent 6 days there staying at a delightful spot overlooking Blackmans Bay.  Fortunately I took my water colours with me and was able to do a number of quick sketches.

It is such a beautiful spot and depending on the weather the colours are always changing.

Jacaranda season, Callan Park

These are a couple of quick water colour sketches done, plein air, on a hot day. By the time I had done these the clouds were moving in and the sky was nearly the same colour as the Jacarandas.  We packed up just before the first rain drop fell.

Callan Park is a beautiful area just across the road from the studio.

So a friend and I went across and spent a very pleasant time having our lunch and throwing some paint around.
