These donuts are an excellent still life choice as they are so full of sugar that they last for days, probably years!!  And no, I was not tempted to eat them.

From a compositional point of view I was drawn to the formal arrangement of the three mugs, donuts and forks.

I used a photo as a reference here, although I am also very familiar with this beautiful spot.  Matilda Bay is just opposite the University of Western Australia and because it is on the banks of the Swan River, and has lots of shady trees, it is a popular place for a picnic.

This is my sister's dog named Sophie. She is far too active and alert to model, so I used a photo as reference.

This was painted using a quite coarse linen which took a little adapting to at first.

Quinces
